First Official Meeting!

Are you in middle school or high school?

We are holding the first official Youth Taking Root meeting on January 17th, 2015 at 10:30 am to 12pm.

Come on down to the Environment Hamilton office, at 22 Wilson Street Suite #4 (inside the Sonic Unyon Building), 2nd floor (map).  If you have any problems finding where we are, you can call 905 549 0900.

We will be inviting a speaker who works in the environmental sector, TBA.   We’ll also be talking about the different kinds of activities YTR has planned for this year, hear from you and your environment club at school, and see how you can get involved!  There will be free refreshments as well!

Invite your environment club or anyone you know who’s interested in learning more about environmental issues and find volunteer opportunities for your high school hours.

If you plan on coming, please let us know by sending over an email to

We’d love to hear from you, and we hope to see you there!

Youth Taking Root is finally officially launching!

We’re going to start it off with an inspiring, award winning documentary about environmental justice and change, Revolution by Rob Stewart!

Date: December 17th, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Location: Hamilton Public Library – Central Branch, Hamilton Room

Watch the trailer here.

The event is FREE and is open for students, teachers, and parents.  Recommended for ages 10+.

There will also be free refreshments.

Come out with your family and friends if you want to learn more about our environmental issues, and what youth can do to help make our world more sustainable for us and future generations.

Be the first to find out what you can get out of YTR, and get your hands on the Guide to Environmental Campaigns for Youth to help your school’s environmental club grow.
